I wandered the lush green trees of Faron Woods, with not a thought in my mind as to what I was doing. I followed a dirt path through the trees, hoping it would take me somewhere. I glanced up at the sky, looking at the barrier of clouds.

“This place is nothing like Skyloft,” I mumbled to myself. I felt as if I were forgetting something, but I couldn’t put my finger on as to what it was. Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted something glimmering in a tree. Curiosity getting to me, I decided to check it out.

I held the object in my hands. It was a (favorite color) satchel. I cockily opened it up, revealing a red diamond. Realization struck me in the face and a grin danced upon my lips. I remember what happened to me!

{Flashback}

I was riding my (color) loftwing, (loftwing name), were on our daily ride, making a few stops here and there. The wind was making me a little uncomfortable, so I decided to make one more stop, then head back to Skyloft. Strong, forceful winds buffeted my loftwing, making (him/her) screech in annoyance.

“It’s alright. We’ll land when we can,” I said soothingly, trying to calm my loftwing. Out of nowhere, an even stronger gust of wind sent both of us hurtling. I screamed and waved my arms frantically, my (hair color) hair being blown into my face. As I started to near the surface, I covered my eyes with my hands, bracing myself for the impact

But it never came.

I slowly uncovered my eyes. I wasn’t dead? Or was I… I looked at my surroundings, absolutely amazed by what I saw.

Unlike Skyloft, there was a whole forest of trees! I noticed a few interesting animals, trying to remain hidden.

“Ah, I see that you are awake?” A voice came from behind me. I whipped my head toward the voice, wanting to see who the owner was.

The Demon Lord Ghirahim.

The gray-skinned, white-haired demon was standing a few feet away from me. My eyes grew wide in fear. I had heard rumors about the demon. He was a sadistic and murderous psychopath, although appeared to be calm and collected at a glance.

“Oh come now, dear. Are you really afraid of little old me?” The demon asked, smirking slightly.

My voice wouldn’t work. I just stood there in total shock, fear taking over my body.

“Well, that’s no way to treat your savior,” Ghirahim pouted. He disappeared for a second, then reappeared behind me, practically breathing down my neck, and whispered, “can you not speak, darling?”

I shook my head slightly, and managed to say, “no, I can talk. You just surprised me, is all. I didn't think I would ever be in your presence.”

Ghirahim stepped back and laughed. I turned to face him and gave him a small smile. "You are quite polite. How intriguing." If he saved my life, could he really be all that bad like the rumors stated?

“Excuse me, Lord Ghirahim,” I said, trying to be polite, “would you happen to know if my loftwing is alright?” Ghirahim gazed into my eyes.

“Oh, you’re loftwing?” He waved his hand dismissively. “Do not fret, (he/she) is waiting for you at my castle.”

I tried to hold back a squeal of excitement. “Really? That’s great! Thank you for saving us!” I hugged the Demon Lord out of pure happiness, catching him by surprise. I blushed and pulled back, alarmed at my impulsive actions.

“I’m so sorry! I honestly didn’t mean to hug you! Oh, I’m such an idiot!” I covered my face with my hands, feeling stupid.

Ghirahim didn’t answer until a few seconds later. “Do not get worked up over it. It is perfectly fine.” He scratched the back of his neck, trying to stop the blush creeping up to his cheeks.

He offered his hand to me as he bowed. “Shall we go, my lady? ” He asked playfully. "I am assuming you would like to see your beloved loftwing." I accepted his hand gratefully. “I’d love to. Thank you, again, for saving my life.”

{Back to the present}

What was I doing in the middle of Faron Woods, all by myself, if Ghirahim took me to his castle? Where was my beloved loftwing?

I glanced down at the glimmering red diamond in my hand. Maybe these had something to do with my impaired memory… Would it be possible that I would have to find other diamonds similar to this to get my memory back?

I stood up and stretched. I put the satchel’s band to hang on my shoulder, like a purse. I gently put the red diamond back in the satchel, and set off, scouring every inch of the forest, wishing to get my memories back.
